    At The Outsider, we believe that being outdoors brings people closer to themselves as well as each other. We create unforgettable outdoor experiences that push boundaries, strengthen teamwork and remain memories for life.

    For families, friends, schools, youth groups and companies: we like to put a big smile on everyone’s face, and preferably with a dash of mud.

    How it once began…

    The Outsider saw the light of day in 1987, deep in the Ardennes. At a time when outdoor sports did not yet have a permanent place in Belgium, we put on our bottoms and went for it.

    After the expansion of The Outsider Ardennes and – 10 years later – The Outsider Coast, in 2007 we settled down at the Donkvijver in Oudenaarde for The Outsider Flemish Ardennes. In 2026, we settled at the fortress of Chaudfontaine for the start of The Outsider Chaudfontaine.

    What started as an old overgrown war fort grew into a fantastic adventure park where team building, outdoor fun and vacation spirit are never far away.

    We are pioneers in outdoor experiences, and proud of it!

    At each of our locations, we maintain the same standards. That way, we promise responsible outdoor experiences to each of our clients.

    Safety

    Our first concern in every activity. We regularly organize a safety audit by BFNO and every activity undergoes periodic safety check-ups.

    Our semi-annual training courses also ensure that our monitors are prepared for anything. Weekly rescue training and a periodic first aid course provide even stronger support in the field.

    Sustainability

    We build for tomorrow, in and with nature. Alternative energy sources such as our solar panels and water-saving installations power the entire estate.

    And our (sports) materials are also carefully selected with sustainability in mind.

    Quality

    From materials to guidance: only the best. Our monitors are experts in their field and receive multiple training courses every year to keep them sharp. But it doesn’t stop there.

    From the moment your booking is requested, the entire back-office team is there for you with all the necessary answers to your questions. We promise a strong price-quality guarantee for every participant, before, during and after your trip.

    Respect for the environment and nature

    What you love, you must protect. We live and work in nature, which is why we also like to take care of our environment.

    Those efforts are in little things: trash bins everywhere to sort, tickets and gift cards that are fully digital, short showers for water conservation, we provide cookies, milk, sugar without packaging in the restaurants….

    Always looking for where we can lend a hand to the environment. Suggestions are always welcome!

    Accessibility for all

    Sport and adventure is there for everyone, even if it is less obvious. This is why there is an adapted offer for people with disabilities or lower incomes.

    From camps for deaf and hard-of-hearing children to sit-wake sessions at the cable car….

    And by offering the activities separately and not in a total package, there is an activity for every price range.
